Ag2SO3 is a chemical compound made up of two silver atoms and one sulfur atom along with three oxygen atoms. It is also known as silver(I) sulfite. The compound is a white or slightly yellowish solid and is insoluble in water. You can obtain Ag2SO3 by treating silver nitrate with an aqueous solution of sodium sulfite. Ag2SO3 is used in photography as a reducing agent, in electroplating processes, and in the manufacture of other silver compounds. Ag2SO3 is also sometimes used in the treatment of certain fungal infections.
